Final Thoughts:

I know next to nothing about Roxy Music, I only discovered them on my quest to broaden my musical taste by listening through the 1001 albums to listen to before you die. For Your Pleasure was surprisingly fun, if not a little misguided at times, for instance the song Do The Strand got old fast. But when Roxy Music is on their game, which is most of For Your Pleasure, it’s really diverse and consistently engaging. Their song Grey Lagoons would more than likely make it on my list for best songs from the 70’s (not that I’m too well versed in that decade), it sounds like a mix between Supertamp and The Seatbelts, I’m excited to keep explore other albums by these guys.

In a Wes Anderson mood.

Nope.

Final Thoughts:

I love the YouTube show What’s in my Bag, where famous musicians pick out albums at Amoeba music, I don’t remember who picked this one out, but I gave it a listen. Incredible String Band is one of those groups that seem revered but I don’t know many people who actually listen to them. At the end of the day it just wasn’t my thing, it was a little too twangy and repetitive for my liking. I guess I was just waiting to hear something that justified the hype and it never arrived. Purest will probably call me an ignorant idiot, but at the end of the day No Ruinous Feud is a bland album from an over-hyped group.
