Final Thoughts:

Parquet Courts took awhile to grow on me, but Human Performance was really approachable. I figured them out and that makes it so much easier to listen to them. So here’s the answer so you don’t have to do the work yourself, Parquet Courts are Talking Heads meet Sonic Youth. It’s impossible not to hear a Byrne influence with the vocals and lyrical content, and the sedated instrumentation is very SY. Human Performance is the album I’d recommend to get to know these guys, laid back, funny, and just a real chill album to put on while playing Monopoly or drinking a beer with friends.
